Tylö Unveils Redesigned Sense Series with Whisper-Quiet Operation
The Swedish manufacturer's flagship residential heater line gets a complete overhaul focused on acoustics and aesthetics.

Swedish sauna manufacturer Tylö has unveiled a comprehensive redesign of its Sense heater series, the company's core residential product line. The new Sense models feature a fundamentally re-engineered convection system that Tylö says reduces operating noise by approximately 60% compared to the previous generation — addressing one of the most common consumer complaints about electric sauna heaters.
Design and Engineering
The redesigned Sense heaters feature a new outer shell designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based industrial design studio Note Design. The aesthetic is deliberately minimal: clean lines, a matte charcoal finish, and a sculptural form that's intended to complement modern interior architecture rather than announce itself.
Internally, the new convection system uses a patented airflow geometry that reduces turbulence — the primary source of fan noise in electric heaters. Tylö claims the result is a heater that's barely perceptible during operation, with measured sound levels below 35 dB at standard operating temperature.
Sound matters in a sauna. Our research showed it was the number-two complaint after heat-up time. We solved both.
Market Context
The residential sauna heater market has become increasingly competitive, with manufacturers differentiating on design, connectivity, and user experience rather than raw performance. Tylö's focus on acoustics represents a novel competitive angle that could resonate strongly with the design-conscious consumer segment.
